Lamontville Golden Arrows registered a further three points at the expense of Absa Premiership returnees AmaZulu FC.
The KwaZulu-Natal derby between neighbours Usuthu and Abafana Bes,thende was a heated one that saw a total of five goals being scored.
Lerato Lamola broke the deadlock after 19 minutes when he sotted home the first of the game putting Arrows in the lead. It was looking all well until new signing Jabulani Shongwe was substituted because of an injury.
AmaZulu struck back and levelled matters with a header from Sade Ouro-Akoriko after a well taken free kick by Ovidy Karuru.
In the second half Siphelele Magubane put Arrows in the lead after just ten minutes played. Arrows managed to bag a third goal in second-half stoppage time courtesy of a strike from Kudakwashe Mahachi, before they got a fourth goal two minutes later when Knox Mutizwa volleyed home from close range.
The final score was 4-1 and Arrows bagged the bragging rights around the KZN province.
